One side of a duplex has come up for sale on 19A Evergreen St. in Medway. The only condominium fee is $500 a year for master insurance.
When you go from Winthrop Street straight onto Evergreen Street and continue a couple of blocks, be sure to cross over Cottage Street and go to the third house to find 19 A Evergreen Street. For some reason, the GPS announces it before you arrive!
The duplex has light-beige vinyl siding, white trim (including a white front door and a white door on the attached one-car garage), and dark brown shutters. On the first level, light flows in through a large center pane window, with a fairly narrow pane on each side.
There are 1,600 square feet in the condo. And there is shared front yard, but no backyard. The owners do share the mowing of the front yard and mow their side and backyard. It is being marketed by Realtor Aaron Pyman of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices Page Realty of Medway for $310,000.
The front door has a slightly curved and interestingly paned top window. Straight ahead are the stairs and to your left is the living room. It has the large window with a fairly narrow window on each side. There is a wood fireplace with white brick side and top, a white mantel and a black brick hearth that is level with the oak hardwood floor. The walls are light avocado green and there is crown molding.
At the back is the kitchen with black lower cabinets, black speckled granite and black and white tiled backsplash that runs up to the bottom of the cabinets, which are white. The floor is hardwood.
When the condo was refinished in 2011 (the present owners moved in about seven years ago), the builders put in new Amana stainless steel appliances. There’s a full French door refrigerator with water and ice on the outside of the freezer door, a dishwasher, a gas stove and oven and a microwave set in the cabinets. There is a deep oval sink with a faucet and a hidden hose and a wide push up window above it. There is a glass-covered upper corner cabinet.
At the end of the kitchen is a back door with a nearly full pane of glass that opens out to a wood deck with a wood railing that goes down to the backyard. There are tall trees in the back and on the side.
Opposite the back door is a door to the one car garage that has its own door to the backyard.
There is a long narrow half bath with tile on the floors and halfway up the walls with mauve paint on top. There’s a pedestal sink at the front and a toilet under a pushup translucent window on the back wall.
Upstairs, there is the master bedroom, which has two front windows, one side window and a skylight. There’s a small walk-in closet and a door to the master bath, which has one pedestal sink, beautiful tile on the floor and to mid-waist, and a fairly large tiled shower.
The additional bedrooms each have two windows or a double window and a closet with a pullout double door. And there is a family bath with a pedestal sink, tiles on the floor that run up above the waist on the walls and a vinyl bath and shower.
The finished basement has a bulkhead that exits into the neighbor’s backyard. There currently is a place to watch TV and an office with a plastic floor, which can be removed. There are stacked front-loading laundry machines, hot water and gas furnace. There is a sump pump, but there has been no water seepage into the basement while the owners have lived here nearly seven years. The TVs will go with the owners, but the washer and dryer will stay.
There is natural gas, town sewer and water.
When the builders worked on the condo in 2011, they refinished the kitchen, bathrooms, put in hardwood floors, replaced windows, re-carpeted bedrooms, refinished closets and put in a new layer of shingles on their side.
